Maybe I’ll commite to 3 bouts, about 2 months apart. Cumulating on the day before the November election.

 

No professional wrestlers or boxers, cannot have been on boxing teams past high school.

 

They must be near my weight category, 30 years or older. 

 

They must have voted for Bush twice.  The more full-on Righty they are, the better.

 

They must not have served in the military. 

 

I’ll Only allow verified socially responsible businesses to get in on the action.

 

Those are the conditions so far.

I’m an overweight 185.  53 years old,  I never boxed before in my life.  But I’ll train and train, baby.

Mohammid Ali.  Cassius Clay.    I’ll recite poetry, I’ll float like a butterfly, I’ll sting like a bee.

I guess this is what happens when you watch Rocky (the original) on Sunday, and then my pure chance meet a boxing referee in an elevator the next day.

 

As my mother used to say (she of the Great Depression era)

Update: Feb 10, 2010.

 

I give out F'n Goofy awards (FGa's) on my website  I gave one to a guy who had commented with a typical F'n Goofy statement on a discussion I initiated.  I encourage people to call for a modern day 1930's job program.  

He didn't like being given the award. He talked tough in an email,  so I challenged him to a boxing match.  We'll see what happens.   I got kicked out of the group, btw- the DePaul Alumi LinkedIn group.

 

  I want to punch somebody in the nose in a fair fight.

Say, how about we put together a complete fight bill - different weight classes, and both men and women bouts.  In Soldier Field. I just met a gal, Alexandria, while I was out training in this fantastic Chicago snow along the lakefront. She saw me doing my Rocky thing while waiting for the light.  She's open to the idea of boxing Sarah Palin.     

 

As to  dealing with the Righties, for me, the time for talking with them is over. 

But Not for  DEMOCRATIC politicians.

Obama's strategy to keep saying he will listen to them and be bi-partisian is 200% brilliant

 

  The vast majority of people do not follow politics.  Trust me, I'm born and bred Chicago. Folks hear a sound bite every few months or so. Then it's back to the grind of everyday life.  That's Obama's target audience, NOT US.  Period.  Trust Obama and his advisors.  He got elected, didn't he?
